About Us
Ian and Victoria are a husband and wife team of award winning woodturners, based in Leeds.
Ian began wood turning in 2015 as a way of dealing with depression. After leaving work through ill health caused by the depression, Ian took the decision to pursue a career as a full time Woodturner. Self taught, and developing his skills through the process of trial and error, Ian has progressed to become a recognised professional full time turner. With pieces now all over the world, Ian has his sights set on exhibiting his work in galleries.
Ian is joined in the workshop by his wife, Victoria. With the intention of supporting Ian through posting social media updates, Victoria established the profile of “The Woodturner’s Wife”. Seduced by the mesmerising process of the flying shavings, it didn’t take long before she wanted to try her hand at woodturning. Finding that she enjoyed the process, Ian invested himself as her mentor with a view to developing her skills to reach that of a professional Woodturner.
The happy couple now proudly boast a number of awards for not just their turning work, but also for the business as a whole. More recently they both made it through to the shortlist for the Mark Baker Woodturner of the Year competition.
Weekdays, you can find them in their home based workshop either turning new projects, or teaching others on one of their experience days or advanced courses. Most weekends they can be found behind the stall at craft fairs and artisan markets across the north of England.
